Accompanying Letter for the poster project

Today five hundred museums, art associations and public galleries from all over the world have been invited to participate in a simultaneous exhibition. We would be very glad if we could convince you to participate in our project, too.

No more bad pictures! Whether as advertisements in art journals or on matchboxes displayed in galleries: in continuation of his other language works, Adib Fricke has since 1988 intermittently ran the artists' campaign “AdibProp”, an ironic contribution to contemporary art production. Chosen out of thirty motives the work, in the form of a poster, discreetly presents itself as a virtual exhibition in the side-rooms of important art mediating institutions.

Have you ever participated in an exhibition that didn't cost you anything? To participate in our exhibition project, we ask you to hang the enclosed poster for one month in a prominent position in a room open to the public. In the very place where exhibition posters are usually hung, the poster itself is now the exhibition: in the foyer, café or in the office ...

We look forward to the global realization of the project and thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Annette Sievert
